Scotland 2014: Rob Roy Way
Named after the "Robin Hood of Scotland," the Rob Roy Way from Drymen to Pitlochry offered 90 miles of breathtaking views from the shores of lochs, forest trails, logging roads, barren countryside and peaks rising to 1,900 feet. As with the year before, the weather was often remarkably beautiful with rain gear required on only one day. Quaint villages, lively pubs and exceedingly hospitable innkeepers afforded us the opportunity to rest, relax and recharge after long days on the trail. Landmarks included Buchanan Castle on the day of our arrival and the sites of Edinburgh where we celebrated our achievement and welcomed the newest members of the Bucket List Hiking Club.
The following photos capture just a few of the memorable sights taken between May 13 - 21, 2014.

The morning of our last day was along a scenic path adjacent to River Tay. (18 May 2014)

Upon the conclusion of the hike, the group celebrated the achievement with a fun dinner at the Whiski Bar in the Old Town area of Edinburgh. Joining us was our friend Jon Coulston who is a professor and Chair of Ancient History nearby at The University of St. Andrews.
